Christmas with a Twist

Cock-a-doodle-doo!!

“And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.”

Luke‬ ‭2:6-7‬

Most of us know these verses. We read them every year. For most though, it is usually only around Christmas time. We know these verses from the Christmas story from Luke Chapter 2.

I have a twist on Christmas this year. On this special weekend, we must take a moment to understand the importance of Christmas. It's not about Santa Claus and all the gifts. It's not about snow and Christmas trees. And as hard as it may sound, its also not about all the food we enjoy, although we certainly do. Christmas is a message of Hope.

We should all understand that we were all lost. We were sinners and had no way of KNOWING God in an intimate/personal relationship. We know the heavenly Father loves us... but we are sinful and He is Holy. For us, God was beyond approach. Without the birth of Christ, there was no way to the Father. There was no Plan B.

It was through Christ, God become man, that we were reconciled to Him. He purchased us with His blood, losing His life so we might find ours. He gave ALL so that we could have ALL. The birth of Christ in the manger that we celebrate each year opened the door for us to have a relationship with God. Without His birth, there would be NO WAY TO GOD.

While we celebrate His birth at Christmas time, He is no longer a babe in a manger. He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Jesus is our only way. There is no other. Without Him, there is no Hope. He and He alone is our Mediator between the Father and man.

Celebrate His birth this weekend. Worship Him as King... Lord... God Almighty everyday.

He is our Way. He is our Truth. He is our life... and He is our Hope.

“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

‭‭John‬ ‭14:6‬
